Dooryard 1138 (Kegs)
This Dooryard is the last blend made entirely with 2010 crop ciders, and we put the whole lot into kegs. #1138 has a slightly fuller bittersweet character than its recent predecessors (even than #1137). The nose of pear, pineapple, cherry, honey, and biscuit has a teeny bit of tomato leaf. The acid is just ahead of the quinine bitterness in the taste, with fruit to the front: strawberry, pineapple, pear and its skin, general citrus. Moderately full mouthfeel. The acid carries in the finish, and the fruits are still there from the taste, but in dried form – dried apricot, dried cherry. The bitterness broadens under the fruit. Nice quinine/lime zest thing going on in the finish. Light fizz, and faint sweetness behind the fruit. We like this one.
Only available on draft. Raise a glass – Cheers!
