Hi Sergio and Amy -- the Chicago area holds a fond spot in my heart as I grew up in South Bend, Indiana. We do not ship apples to consumers directly and sell mainly through fruit brokers so we don't even know where our apples end up once they leave the orchard! But if you'd like to try any of our ciders -- which are lightly alcoholic and delicious -- you might try those instead. Here are some of the folks who sell and ship our cider: http://www.povertylaneorchards.com/farnum-hill-ciders/where-to-buy-online-a-partial-list/
Enjoy your weekend!

Hello

Just finished watching The Botany of Desire (PBS). Myself and my wife LOVED your segment the most! Can you ship your apples to Chicago? Or, can you direct me to who carries your apples?

Very best regards

Thanks so much John! If you get in touch with me, we can try to arrange a visit -- however, we will be opening for our retail apple season beginning on September 11. We would like nothing more than to see more orchards planting cider varieties, experimenting with cider apples, and generally raising the profile for this delicious and historic beverage. Let us know how we can help! Best, Corrie

I got a chance to read your article in Yankee magazine. It really struck a chord with me, because my family has a farm in upstate NY between Rochester and Buffalo. We have similar acreage for orchards and were considering setting up a small cidery. I hope to get a chance to visit your farm sometime and pick up a growler when I get a moment. Do you have tours?

It's funny my father went through much the same thought pattern as you, trying to compete by planting the apple varieties that the buyers wanted. Now he's going back to planting many heirloom varieties.

Hi there Marc -- great to hear from you about your New England trip and your pleasurable Summer Cider drinking! We do have a few retailers who ship our ciders - Astor Wines in NYC, Gordon's Wines, K&L in New York too -- I just did a quick google search of "Buy Farnum Hill" and was amazed at the hits! I am working on a list of online retailers to add to the web too. Please do let me know if you have any problems finding it, and drink more (Farnum Hill) cider!
