Feeble & sparse now, but wait!
Those raspberry canes are all it takes to fill the field with fruity fun. In ten little weeks those sticks will be covered with leaves and heavy with berries. Usually we open for pick-your-own pie cherries and raspberries just after July 4th, but this year the buds all over the farm are nearly three weeks ahead of normal. So maybe this year you bakers will have fresh cherries for Independence Day, instead of thawing out that final freezer batch from 2009.
As ever, keep in touch as June comes to an end, or sign up for an email or postcard warning.
